Abstract

This editorial looks back at the Journal of Learning Analytics (JLA) in 2024 and forward to 2025. The first section of this editorial considers how learning analytics and Generative AI might be used to help students to develop a broad range of skills and competencies and identifies some promising directions for research in this area. The second section looks back over the past year, providing statistics on submissions and noting recent changes to the journal, including changes to licensing and the introduction of a new Editorial Board and Senior Editorial Board.
